The West Side Art Quilt Group otherwise known as WAQG began in April of 2014. The purpose of the group was to have a specific quilting group that specialized in promoting Art Quilts. Our group meets monthly on the 4th Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm at the North Olmsted library in North Olmsted, Ohio. Unlike most quilt groups we do not have dues and rely on group participation to further our skills and ideas. We have only one rule and that is to give the speaker your full attention. We welcome new members who wish to expand their quilting knowledge into the world of Art Quilting.
We learn through demos, workshops and play dates and have explored fabric painting, thickened dye painting, indigo dying, hand work, felting, fabric manipulation and many more techniques. We have found there are no mistakes in art quilting and have found that everyone’s personality shines through their art.
